On 5th November, the Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition (AESAN) informed that the Ministry of Consumption opened for public consultation the draft Royal Decree seeking to establish restrictions on the advertising of foods high in fat, sugar and sodium (HFSS) directed to children.
This aims to collect opinions from the involved sectors (civil society, food industry, etc.) before the drafting the regulatory proposal.
According to the text, avoiding the HFSS food advertising directed to children is needed to protect that population and ensure their right to health care, thus the proposal is justified in:

So far, public pronouncements are from the Murcia?s Government who asked the Minister of Consumption Alberto Garzón to exclude fruit juice from the scope of the proposal stating that ?those products do not contain added sugar since the sugar in the final product come from the fruit?.
