The Ministry of Health has opened for public consultation a proposal that seeks to establish the mandatory fortification of some food categories with vitamin D, considering the results of the National Health Survey (2017), which showed a significant deficiency of this vitamin in the Chilean population.


The categories being impacted are the following: 



?????????The draft foresees minimum and maximum limits of vitamin D for each category of products.


This regulation would be effective 24 months after the publication of the regulation. 


Comments will be received until 22 October.
