On 13 December, the Minitry of Public Health of Colombia announced the publication of Resolution N° 2492 of 13 December 2022 Regulating Law N° 2120 of 2021 on Front-of-pack (FOP) labelling and modifying some articles from Resolution N° 810 of 2021.
The main changes on the rules on FOP labelling are the following:

2. Black and white octagons with the phrase "EXCESS..." followed by "SATURATED FATS" or "TRANS FATS" or "SODIUM" or "SUGARS" or with the text "CONTAINS SWEETENERS" individually or with 2 or 3 or 4 or 5 stamps (as appropriate).
Other changes on Resolution N° 810 of 2021:
1. Modifications on the restrictions on claims on the food label. In general terms, products bearing at leats a seal, cannot use nutrition and /or health claims on their labels.
2. New definitions not foreseen in Resolution N° 810 for the application of the rules on front-of-pack labelling and also for nutrition labelling.
Deadlines:
1. Products complying the old rules on nutrition labelling foreseen in Resolution N° 333 of 2011 and those already displaying the circular front-of-pack labelling introduced by Resolution N° 810 in 2021 can apply for the stock depletion until 28 February 2023. INVIMA will define the corresponding timeline for this purpose on a case-by-case basis (it shall not exceeds 6 month).
2. As of 15 June 2024 all the products placed on the market must comply with the new front-of-pack labelling.
3. Imported products can use stickerts to adapt their labels (while the have their corresponding Sanitary Inspection Certificate (CIS).
National products can use stickers until 23 December without prior authorization from INVIMA, and until 15 June 2024 with prior authorization.
